Cleveleys Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1176
 
Business meeting Wednesday 20th March 2024 at the Masonic Hall, Cleveleys.
The WM, WBro. Paul Smedley opened the Lodge with 31 Brethren present; members, visitors and Masters in office; WBro. David Platt WM Wyre Mark Lodge No 754 and WBro. Paul Kavanagh WM Preston Mark Lodge No 143.
A number of Grand Officers were present: VWBro. Jimmy Rogers, VWBro. Howard Emmett, WBro. Gordon Hinchliffe, WBro. Alan Fairhurst, WBro. Philip Watson and WBro. Tony Cross.
The WM for the ensuing year was elected: Bro. Willaim Forsyth SW, who thanked the Brethren for the confidence they had placed in him.
WBro. Desmond Lund was elected as treasurer a role he has held for many years.
The main business of the evening was to receive a talk by WBro. Dennis Smith PProvGSW, of Wyre Mark Lodge, on the history of the degree explaining the origins of the ceremony and signs. WBro. Smith’s talk was excellent and dynamic as he moved around the Lodge explaining various aspects of the ceremony.
An up date was given by VWBro. Jimmy Rogers in respect of the recent donation of £500 to the “Buttony Bear” charity.
A discussion re another donation to a local charity “Coast Watch” ensued and the WM proposed that £300 be given. The proposition was carried.
The Lodge was closed and the Brethren retired to the festive board for some sustenance; buffet, and lively conversation.

A seaside swindle raffle organized by WBro. Bob Bennet raised £180!
